EFR - Instructor
- A course for those who wish to gain a qualification to teach the EFR primary care, secondary care and care for children courses.
- The EFR Instructor qualification allows you to run your own courses as an independent trainer.
- The EFR Instructor course gives new instructors a structure for quick set up, simple operation & with everything supplied.
- The EFR Instructors qualification is complimentary to other qualifications held by among others: Swimming Instructors, Sports Coaches, Crèche Workers, and leaders in organisations such as Scouts, Youth Clubs, and Teachers etc.
- The Instructor course builds on previously acquired skills from the EFR primary, secondary and childcares course and focuses on developing instructor abilities.
It uses independent study, classroom sessions and practical teaching assignments.
Cross Over Programme
Instructors with other organisations may complete a cross over programme to earn instructor rating.
The crossover programme gives credit for prior teaching experience and qualifications.
Two day course - 9.30am - 5.30pm
- Weekday & weekend options available
- Course are held at the firstaider.ie training centre
- Courses may also be conducted in the home or workplace for groups of 6 or more.
- Fee: €450
Requirements
- applicant must
be 18 years of age or over
- have completed a sanctioned course in First Aid, adult CPR and child CPR within last 24mths.
- On successful completion of the EFR instructors course and exam, register with EFR to obtain teaching status, annual registration which is currently (stg) €81.08 incl.vat.
Course Goals
- Assure that you understand the EFR programme’s structure, requirements and procedures.
- Familiarise you with the EFR program philosophy and prepare you to teach low-stress, performance-based, learner-centred courses.
- Refine your own skills to a role-model level.
- Provide you with practical suggestions for organizing and marketing EFR training.
- Encourage you to be an active EFR Instructor and to enable you to use your skills to train others in the community.
